Everything you need to know before your first class.
Below you'll find the policies that help create the best possible experience for everyone.
Privacy
- Women-Only Studio: The Good Core is a women-only studio. Blinds remain closed during class, and the doors lock once class begins to provide a private environment for every client. Children, partners, family members, friends, and non-participants are not permitted in the studio during class.
- Recording & Photography: Recording during class is not permitted unless you've received approval from The Good Core beforehand. If you'd like to record yourself during class, please contact us in advance. Written approval is required.
Photos are welcome before and after class. Please be mindful of those around you and ensure your photo includes only you. No other clients may appear in the photo.
Studio Etiquette
- Your First Visit: If it's your first class, please arrive at least 10 minutes early. We'll get you checked in, introduce you to the studio, and answer any questions before class begins. The studio doors lock 5 minutes after class begins. Once the doors are locked, late arrivals cannot be admitted, and the class cannot be refunded, rescheduled, or credited.
- Start with a Wave: Every class begins with a wave to your neighbour. It's a simple TGC tradition that reflects the welcoming community we're proud to have built.
- Let Us Know: Please let your instructor know before class if you're managing an injury, pregnant, returning postpartum, recovering from surgery, or if there's anything else we should know to better support you during class.
- Phones Away: Please keep your phone on silent and avoid using it during class. We understand emergencies happen, but phones can be distracting for both you and the women around you.
- Shoes & Grip Socks: Please remove your shoes upon entering the studio. Grip socks are recommended at our Scarborough mat studio. At our Markham reformer studio, grip socks are mandatory. Grip socks are available for purchase at both locations.
- Respect the Space: Please treat our instructors, staff, and fellow members with kindness and respect. The Good Core reserves the right to refuse service or terminate memberships if behaviour compromises the safety, comfort, or experience of others.
Bookings & Cancellations
- Booking Classes: All classes must be booked in advance through our online booking system.
- Cancellations: Classes cancelled at least 12 hours before the scheduled start time may be rescheduled without penalty, provided the class credit remains active. Late cancellations are not eligible for refunds or rescheduling.
- No-Shows: If you do not attend your booked class without cancelling, your class will be forfeited, and a $10 no-show fee will apply.
Unlimited Memberships and Two-Week Unlimited Intro Offers are also subject to late cancellation and no-show fees.
- Waitlists: When a spot becomes available, everyone on the waitlist is notified by email at the same time. The first person to book the available spot will secure it.
Memberships & Class Packs
Memberships: All memberships start on a 3-month commitment. After the initial commitment period, memberships automatically renew each month until cancelled.
To cancel your membership, please email info@thegoodcore.co at least 30 days before your billing date. Cancellation requests received within 30 days of the billing date will take effect the following billing cycle.
Membership credits renew each billing cycle. Unused credits do not roll over and expire at the end of the current billing cycle.
Memberships may be frozen for one billing cycle once your initial 3-month commitment has been completed. Freeze requests also require at least 30 days' notice before your billing date.
If a membership payment is unsuccessful, future bookings will be suspended until payment has been resolved.
Class Packs: Class packs are shareable with friends and family unless otherwise stated. All class packs expire according to the expiry date associated with the package purchased.
All purchases are non-refundable.
Health & Safety
If you're feeling unwell, please stay home. If you're unable to attend due to illness, please cancel your class at least 12 hours beforehand so you're able to rebook.
If you've recently had surgery, given birth, or have been advised by a healthcare provider to limit physical activity, please obtain medical clearance before returning to class.
Liability & Personal Belongings
- Liability Waiver: All clients must complete a liability waiver before participating in class.
- Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Personal Belongings: Personal belongings may be stored in the cubbies provided at the front of the studio. The Good Core is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items. We recommend leaving valuables at home whenever possible.
