What you
should know.
- 01
Will you have more classes on the schedule?
Yes! We're currently in our soft launch, so we're starting with a smaller schedule as we settle into our new space and grow our community. Over the coming weeks and months, we'll continue adding new classes, instructors, and time slots based on demand.
Have a day or time you'd love to see? We'd love to hear from you! Email us at info@thegoodcore.co and we'll keep your suggestion in mind as we build our schedule.
- 02
Is the Markham studio women-only?
Yes. Just like our Scarborough location, the Markham studio is a women-only space designed to help women feel comfortable, confident, and supported throughout every class.
- 03
Do I need Pilates or reformer experience?
Not at all. Beginners are welcome in every class. Our instructors will guide you through the equipment, provide modifications and progressions throughout class, and help you work at a level that feels right for your body, experience, and goals. Please ensure to arrive 15 minutes early for your first class.
- 04
How is this different from the mat studio in Scarborough?
The Markham studio uses a spring-loaded reformer that provides both support and resistance throughout each movement. While the equipment is different, the experience stays the same: instructor-led classes rooted in precision, control, and strength.
Our Scarborough location will continue to offer mat-based Pilates classes exclusively.
- 05
Can I use my Scarborough class credits in Markham?
No. Although both studios are part of The Good Core, they operate independently under different pricing structures. Class credits are not transferable between locations.
- 06
How long are reformer classes?
All reformer classes are 50 minutes long.
- 07
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable fitness attire that allows you to move freely. Form-fitting clothing can make it easier for instructors to assess alignment and provide adjustments, but your comfort always comes first.
Grip socks are mandatory for all reformer classes. If you don't have a pair, they're available for purchase at the studio.
- 08
Do I need to bring anything?
Just yourself. Everything you'll need for class is provided. You're welcome to bring a water bottle, or purchase one at the studio.
- 09
How early should I arrive?
If it's your first reformer class, please arrive 15 minutes early. We'll introduce you to the studio, show you how the reformer works, and answer any questions before class begins.
Classes begin promptly. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated for safety reasons and the class will be forfeited.
- 10
Where do I park and how do I find the studio?
Free outdoor and underground parking is available.
The studio entrance is through the underground garage entrance. We'll send detailed directions before your first class, as the studio can be a little tricky to find on your first visit. Please allow a few extra minutes for parking and finding the studio.
- 11
What if I have an injury or I'm pregnant?
Many injuries and pregnancies can be accommodated with modifications. If you have an injury, are pregnant, or have any concerns about participating, we encourage you to contact us before your first class.
Please arrive early to speak with your instructor before class begins. They'll be happy to discuss any necessary modifications and support you throughout class.
- 12
Can I cancel or reschedule a class?
Yes. Classes may be cancelled and rescheduled provided the cancellation is made at least 12 hours before the scheduled class start time and the credit remains within its active date range.
Classes cancelled within 12 hours of the scheduled class start time will forfeit the class credit. A no-show fee will apply if you do not attend a scheduled class without cancelling in advance.
- 13
Do you offer memberships for the reformer studio?
Memberships are coming soon! During our soft launch, classes are available through intro offers and class packs.
As we continue to grow our schedule and community, we'll introduce membership options for our Markham studio. Be sure to join our email list or follow us on social media to be the first to know when they're available.
